SANTA BARBARA SECTION COUNCIL OF CLUBS

Minutes 8-12-01 Council of Clubs Meeting:

The meeting was called to order by the temporary Chairman Michael Atmore, (KE6DKU) Acting Chairman.

Opening Remarks

Introductions.
Representatives from 10 area clubs were present as well as the ARRL Southwestern Division director, Vice Director, and the ARRL Orange Section Affiliated Club Coordinator.

Satellite Amateur Radio Club, W6AB
ARC at Univ. of Calif., Santa Barbara, W6FRU
Santa Barbara ARC, K6TZ
Roark ARC, KF6RWY
Ventura County ARC, K6MEP
Armstrong Memorial RC, W2XMN
Poinsettia ARC, WA6BMH
Radio Club of Calif., W6VN
Seaside Radio Association, W6NE
Sulphur Mountain Repeater Assn., K6SMR

The Council qualifies for ARRL affiliation as more than 51% of member clubs are ARRL affiliated.

Completed Business:

1 - Adoption of articles of organization, bylaws, rules of order and purpose

2 - Adoption of "Santa Barbara Section Council of Clubs" as the organization name.

3 - Approved the establishment of an e-mail list server for dissemination of information between clubs and between the ACC and all clubs. Paul Andreasen (K1JAN) offered to establish an e-mail reflector.

4 - Endorsed the promotion of the ARRL Santa Barbara Section list server through the member clubs.

5 - Endorsed the promotion of the ARRL Santa Barbara Section Web site through the member clubs.

6 - Following comments from the SARC representative, endorsed the concept of providing assistance to SARC to promote The Santa Maria Swapfest 

7 - Approved the establishment of an informational page on the Section Web Site and 
support club web pages for member clubs. Paul Andreasen (K1JAN) offered to establish a web site.

8 - Agreed to secure as able and maintain a library of ARRL videos CDs and DVDs for use by member clubs. 

9 - Agreed to initiate a recruitment program to encourage section clubs to maintain membership in the council

10 - Elected officers for the 12 month period to end on the Second Sunday in August, 2002.
